Upcoming Events @ IBW LODGE #1!!!

We've got a bunch of great events coming up in the next few days here at IBW Lodge #1. We really hope to see all of you at all of them. You can do it!

Tonight, we've got our weekly addition of MURDER BINGO with Handsome Rob. Join Rob as he guides you down the dark and depraved side of American cinema... and win some beer in the process! Murder Bingo is every Wednesday and starts at 9pm. This is strictly 21+ event, no exceptions. 

And, for the month of March, we're going to tally up the big winner from all 5 games this month and whoever has won the most bingos will win this "The Shining" board game. Can your life handle this much joy?

Tomorrow night, Thursday March 23rd we've got Robert Rolfe Feddersen's record release party for "The Distance" LP. He'll be playing a live set starting at 7:30pm and giving away all kinds of fun Fed-Head paraphenalia.

 And then, this Sunday we've got two great events back to back!

WHITE LOTUS TEAM TRIVIA on Sunday March 26th @ 3pm. Winners receive IBW Gift cards and the first place winner wins a White Lotus Season 1 DVD!! 

And then at 5:30p on Sunday we've our 3rd installment in our AMERICANA MUSIC SERIES OF DEBAUCHERY with FREE live music from Annalee Koehn & Chuck Cox. This acoustic guitar duo will play original songs inspired by Roots, Blues and Gospel music. It should be a wonderful way to start your week!!.

Girlscout Cookie Pairings & St. Pats Day @ IBW!!

And then TOMORROW we've got our Girl Scout Cookie and Beer pairing event. 

For $20 you'll get a 4x 5oz flight of IBW beer paired, with expert precision and deep searching meditation, by head brewer Bucky PLUS a pint of Trust to wash it all down when you're done. We'll also have more Girl Scout cookies on hand if you want to buy some more and support a local Girl Scout Troop.

And then... this weekend... The Northside St. Patrick's Day Parade is back! Sober people of the world: Take heed! Take shelter! For all of you wonderful Irish folks - or the Irish-for-a-day folks - we've got your back. This Sunday, March 12th, IBW will open at 10am to help you get your parade started early. We'll have $5 pints of our Irish Stout, CLURICHAUN TRAP, all day! Plus, the wonderful DIMO'S PIZZA will be here slinging slices to help keep your guts balanced. And, when the call for a sweet takes hold of you, Ruby Jade Cakes will be here with Clurichaun Trap cupcakes. Should be another great day in Chicago!! Join us!

New Beer & The Girls of the Golden West

Howdy!

Sadly, my two-week nap after NYE, like all things, had to eventually come to an end. As Roy Rogers used to say to Judy Garland after a week of guns, gambling and pig-latin charades in the Hollywood Hills, "The Goblin must be fed." So, let's feed it.

We're excited to announce that the second installment in our Americana Music Series of Debauchery is going to be this Sunday with the wonderful Girls of the Golden West playing all original music that calls to mind old standards to bend time and delight! 

The show starts at 4pm on Sunday, January 22nd and is entirely FREE to you, a gift from IBW and the The Girls of the Golden West. We hope you come and enjoy a truly unique experience in our sweaty little hovel of iniquity. We dropped a couple new beers this week as well & we're quite excited about them (we're very excited over here after our naps!).

Concord Grape Brainwash is our newest variant of our house sour ale. This is just as advertised: imagine drinking a 7% ABV glass of beer that tastes just like Grape Hubba-Bubba from the salad days of yore.

We also dropped our first ever ESB this week, HER MAJESTY'S SATANIC REQUEST. This sultry little English Pub Ale pays homage to the biggest 60's rock band from an alternate universe, Gerry True & the Studebakers and their infamous and storied post-humous release that was 30 years in the making, Her Majesty's Satanic Request. Gerry and company went through several nervous breakdowns, 3 labels and 800 tubes of airplane glue to see this masterwork put to acetate. It's our honor and privilege to raise a glass to that Herculean effort with this delightful, malt-forward treat.

If you follow us on social media (of course you do!), then you already know that the label for this beer was made in part with that new and disturbing technology MidJourney. Our wizard designer, Mark Ludemann, collaborated with the AI that has been voted "Most Likely to Exterminate Humanity" by Forbes Magazine to create this wonderful and weird portrait of a band from a different place.

Both Mark and I have been bitten pretty hard by this troubling new technology and we've been posting some of our results on our Instacrap and Flubbook accounts. But, because I love you, here's one that we'll never post on-line, this one is just for you, our lovely little email list. This prompt was "Secret Freemason Spring Break Party". Enjoy, friends!

We've got our IBW Book Club coming on at 8pm on Wednesday February 1st. This month we'll be discussing Ottessa Moshfegh's "Eileen". Come enjoy the wonderful past-time of talking about ideas with strangers and get 10% off your beer all night.

We've also got another Modular Synth night on Saturday February 4th at 9pm. If you are one of those strange people that likes spending loads of money on confounding machines that make strange noises, then this night is for you! Don't miss it!
